Age Concern required a Content Management System (CMS) that would be really simple to use (administrered by Age Concern volunteers). Visually we had to adhere to a strict set of branding guidelines and were under orders to exclude icons as their older visitors prefer plain large text.
Net result we used an award winning CMS for its front end navigation and customisable admin menu systems. This allowed us to present an administration menu that only contains the functions they use on an everyday basis. Once logged in the site is navigated as you see it (from the front end) without using a back end administration area – so you literally edit the page you are looking at.
